YOSHIHIRO SUDA

BIOGRAPHIE

BIOGRAPHY

Born in Yamanashi (1969), lives and works in Tokyo (Japan).

Yoshihiro Suda’s hyperrealist artworks are sculpted in thin sheets of magnolia wood which are then painted with traditional Japanese pigments. Based on “live models”, each artwork is a form of still life of a flower or plant. Placed in a built environment, they expose the contrast between nature and architecture, and shine light on the relationship between the work of art and the built space that welcomes it.
